What is Appointment-Based Delivery (ABD)?

Appointment-based delivery refers to scheduling a delivery time in advance with the client to ensure they are ready to receive the goods. It helps prevent waiting, delivery failures and improves overall efficiency.

For which type of clients is ABD required?

ABD is typically for Purchase Order (PO) fulfilment of Qcom Fulfilment Centre (FC) orders, especially for clients who have fixed receiving windows or strict delivery protocols.

Who is responsible for booking the ABD?

In most cases, the client initiates the ABD booking at the Qcom FC after a mutual discussion between the client team and the Edgistify POC.

What is the ABD accuracy/fulfilment percentage at Edgistify?

We have an ABD fulfilment ratio of 97% for our clients.

What happens if the delivery appointment is missed or delayed?
  • A new time slot must be booked
  • It may lead to delays in delivery and order fulfilment
  • The client may raise complaints or apply penalties as per their policy
Why might a delivery be rejected at the customer's end?
  • The vehicle arrives outside the scheduled time
  • Mandatory documents (like LR copy, invoice, etc.) are missing
  • An incorrect vehicle or an unregistered transporter is used
What if the vehicle gets delayed after receiving a confirmed time slot?
  • If the vehicle is delayed by more than 30–60 minutes, the appointment slot may lapse
  • A new appointment must be booked, and the vehicle could face overnight detention
